Re: Hypertrichosis (Werewolf Syndrome)

Hypertrichosis, from New Latin for, “super growth of hair,” (but also known as Ambras syndrome or werewolf syndrome), is normally a congenital, (born with), disease, but it can also be acquired from rare side effects from pharmaceutical drugs, usually drugs associated with cancer or eating disorder treatments.

There are two kinds of hypertrichosis: generalized and localized. Generalized afflicts the entire body, while localized afflicts focused areas, (see bottom left picture). There is no known permanent cure for hypertrichosis, but some sufferers of localized hypertrichosis opt for monthly laser hair removal.

Re: Hypertrichosis (Werewolf Syndrome)

I didn't see the op. You could have removed mine, moderators. I landed on some skin diseases while posting and this was among them.

Seeing babies with hairy butts doesn't seem right to me.

I'm not a fan of body hair anyway.

The poor girl below looks like a Yorkie.

Hairy boobs, I could have lived without seeing. Eek!

Looks like those kids take it stride. They seem happy and accepted.

Re: Hypertrichosis (Werewolf Syndrome)

"Maury," had one of the guys with the dark hair covered faces on his show a couple of years ago, along with his wife.

They are part of a circus act.

They shaved his face. His wife liked him better with the hair.
