Filipino boy Cline Solano was born in January 2017 with a rare brain abnormality - hydranencephaly. It is characterized by the complete or almost complete absence of the cerebral hemispheres, which are replaced by a cavity filled with cerebrospinal fluid.

There is no effective treatment for this developmental anomaly, so, as a rule, children die within the first year of life.

However, survival is still possible. Thus, there is a known case where a patient with such a diagnosis lived to be 32 years old.

At a hospital in Pasig City, the boy underwent surgery to drain excess fluid, which was supposed to relieve pressure on the brain. However, as a result, the child’s skull sank and something resembling “devil’s horns” formed on his head.

According to the Daily Mail, the child will now have to undergo another operation to restore the shape of his head. But his mother Justine Gatarin fears her baby is too weak for further surgery.

“Some people say his head resembles that of the devil. But we have no doubt that he is an angel. It breaks my heart to see him suffer.

If surgery is not done soon, Cline's head will look like this for the rest of his life. Now the child is forced to be fed through a tube.
