What's sad is this is just the start for the victim. A lot if not most of the tissue that's all swollen up will eventually die and slough off. It might require skin grafts. She is lucky that it doesn't look like there's any real muscle damage. Attached is a patient of mine from when I was in Bangladesh. I managed to get her into a fair trade garment facility once she healed up well enough. It really helped her cope.
