Homeless Woman's Head Infested W Maggots

Not sure if this is a repost, it is from a few years ago, but I came across this case just now while doing some research to try to find out more information about a pretty surreal video posted to DR a couple years ago, which can be found here: https://www.documentingreality.com/f...aggots-187293/

Looks like maggot infestations while alive is actually pretty common...

A HOMELESS woman has been miraculously nursed back to health by "angelic" charity workers after her head became infested with maggots.
Volunteers from Gorakshdham, a charity based in India, found the 30-year-old woman sitting and crying by the road in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

When they approached her they realised maggots had burrowed into her skull.
The woman, called Preeti Devi, was taken to the organisation's shelter where she was cared for and nursed back to health for five months.
Volunteers had to pick the maggots out of her skull and keep her wounds clean to prevent them from returning.
According to Gorakshadham officials Preeti was left with head injuries after being attacked by a group of people near her home in Bihar.
she survived her horrifying ordeal and the last picture is apparently after she recovered.

Maggots probably saved her life by eating away the infection and dead flesh

Re: Homeless Woman's Head Infested W Maggots

I wonder what caused the original skull wounds because I doubt the maggots burrowed through bone. That other video I haven't seen, I was NOT expecting her to be alive lol. Thanks for sharing

If any tissue has become necrotic and rotten maggots will certainly munch their way through it. Gross, but it gets rid of some of the nastiness, anyway. Maggots even secrete a chemical that kills MRSA.

Actually heard a story about a botfly found in I think the guy's head. (Might have been on here.) He had the thing removed then died shortly later. Turned out the botfly was eating his tumor/cancer.

Damn...ain't that a bitch? Botflies kinda creep me out after watching some of those removal vids, but they just earned some respect after hearing that story. Anything that can fight cancer is a good thing in my book.

The botflies didn't reverse the cancer, they just consumed the rotten, infected tissue. Untreated solid tumours often become pus-filled necrotic lumps of foulness.

All those details tell me she is either special needs or has mental health issues. Her face says it, too...just look in those eyes. Possibly why she was both helpless and ostracized/abused in her hometown.

Re: Homeless Woman's Head Infested W Maggots

Maggots are really creepy and wonderfull the same way.
In Europe (in my Case Austria) we come back to So called Maggot therapy.
People who have problems with non healing wound get some Maggots who cleans the necrotic tissue and then the Wound can heal much better then without maggots. But the Maggots and the Flies that we use are born under non septic conditions (clean room or equal) and the have no other virus or bacteria on her Body.
I Think the Nature have a Solution for every Problem that we have.

Seems likely. Very sad
