Neighbours in the La Arenera neighbourhood, in the capital's Zone 21, tried to burn alive a suspected hitman they accused of murdering a man who lives in the area.

According to the information gathered, the group left their house after hearing the shots and seeing what had happened, and although the hitmen tried to flee, they were caught, but they only had one man, whom they beat up and tried to set on fire.

The security forces intervened and forced them to hand him over, but he was taken to a medical centre because of his burns.

On the other hand, it was reported that the person accompanying the victim was a woman who managed to escape from the scene.

Witnesses to the crime said that the assailants arrived at Block 1 and Lot 4 of the colony and knocked on the door of the building where 29-year-old C.O.H. lives. When he opened the door, the assassins fired several shots.

"A 29-year-old man, identified as C.O.H., is the one who lost his life due to several gunshot wounds received by unknown persons, the wounds were blunt in important areas of the body, so that nothing could be done for this person despite the efforts of the paramedics," said Officer Omar Valle, Municipal Fire Department.
