those are scars from abcesses caused by shooting heroin into tissue " Skin Popping" - junkies do it when they are desperate and cant get a vein she doesnt shoot heroin into the scar tissue to get high - that would only waste her drugs . Alot of them shoot into the jugular or continue to skin pop and get abcesses - losing whole buttocks and deltoid muscle |

this is from a great documentary on the Vancouver,BC Downtown Eastside...called "Through A Blue Lens" filmed by the Police who walk this part of the city. Really incredible footage...it is on Youtube if anyone wants to watch it. They use this in highschools here to warn kids of the dangers of drug use/abuse. I don't know if she is still alive or not.
