Sometimes pregnancies aren't going quite the way they should: The firtilized egg got stuck in the fallopian tube. It grows happily there but not for long: Soon the embryo is getting too big for the tube. It can cause a rupture of the fallopian tube, creating a life-endangering situation for the woman.
An ectopic pregnancy (as it's called) is never viable and is always a medical emergency.

Women are lucky to have 2 tubes, so there's a backup.

excellent work, i am in ore, me and my wife are unable to have kids, due to a previous eptopic pregnancy, b4 we met, which damaged her tubes
for life, I just love these pics of the begining of life,
so sad they never get the chance.

Me too. It's so sad and yet so utterly fascinating to me. I hope this never happens to me. It's happened to a friend of mine. =/ So many things can go wrong in pregnancy; it's frightening.
