This Head's Fucked Up! (warning: Newborn Infant)
Baby with what appears to be a severe case of Treacher-Collins Syndrome, with the grossly malformed head known as a "kleeblattschadel" or "cloverleaf skull" Poor kid... probably not going to live long.  (note: Airdna is not known for her love of children, but grim circumstances like this leave me feeling for the child and family.)  · |

It's definitely congenital, and there are a number of ways this could have happened. Chemical exposure, drug use, trauma and heredity to name a few. Personal account of Treacher-Collins Syndrome: I went to school with a young lady who had a far less disfiguring case of Treacher-Collins Syndrome, with ears similar to this kid's, a roughly lightbulb-shaped head, no eyes, no nose and some facial deformities less severe than in this case, but otherwise very normal; after some surgeries and prosthetic eyes and lots of support from family, teachers and moi (even though she was several grades below me), she got her equivalent diploma and grew up to be a little-known but angelic-voiced gospel singer with a group from the town in Oregon I grew up in. This young lady got her fair share of ridicule and all kinds of abuse for her looks, but I was there for her from when we met back in school (I was in 4th grade and she in kindergarten) until I moved to California, and she was able to overcome her disability and deformity. |

Crime in Italy, that is really messed up. Poor little guy. Not to be mean, but I really hope he didn't live long. That would have been such a hard life. |

It looks like a parasitic twin attached to the head...you can kind of make out eyes, profile of a nose, hair line...

I'm pretty sure that's TCS. The little girl I posted pictures of was born looking about on par with this little feller. Crazy thing about TCS, is its very common and you can have it, have no physical abnormalities, and not even know it until you're pregnant and get genetic testing.
