HAND CRUSH INJURY
These injuries occured when a 1.5 tonne machinary frame was being installed in a factory. The machine frame was being levelled by hand by screwing the feet up or down. Unfortunately for this guy the foot/bolt snapped. It fell only 30cms/1 foot resulting in what you see. The surgeon is holding the hand together here otherwise the fingers and palm would fall backwards. This mans hand was permanantly disabled.Skin & blood vessel were removed from the front of the thigh to reconstruct the palm. The thumb bone/s were broken in 6 places and all other fingers were broken at least once. The only funny part is he is currently getting laser hair removal for his palm which is half covered in skin from his thigh. |
