I could NOT do it. Couldn't do it no matter how hard I tried. Good luck. (Butttt.... kids are SO incredibly resilient. Chances are, they handle burns better than adults, and they probably handle them with a lot better attitude. They're awesome like that.)

I almost BEGGED to not have to do the pediatric oncology or peds burn rotations when that time comes, but I know I will have to eventually deal with it, as my speciality is emergency med. You are right, though. Children bounce back so much faster and handle it better. Their optimism with the hand they have been dealt is far more positive than adults. They always want to think about the future versus the adults who think that it is "the end of their lives" **cue my dramatic sarcasm** |
