My understanding is that in these poor countries they don’t give patients sedation if they can’t pay. There’s an awful video from India of a young boy dying in the parking lot of rabies while his parents take turns trying to comfort him, and if I’m remembering correctly the parents are saying the hospital sent him out because they couldn’t pay.

It’s been a while since I researched though, so maybe it’s a shortage of meds that are saved for non-terminal patients.

Either way it’s tragic.

Dunno if you guys consider Brazil a poor country, but here we have medical care and rabies vaccine for free.
