Philippines. A 10-foot-long crocodile bit and seriously injured a man who, out of curiosity, (some say he wanted a selfie) jumped into its enclosure in Siay town.

According to a Siay police report, the man believed that the reptile soaking in the water was not for real.

However, the crocodile bit and held onto the man’s right knee and thigh for 30 minutes, occasionally rolling over in an attempt to tear it before the eyes of dozens of horrified onlookers.

Rescue volunteers from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office pulled the man to safety and treated him for severe cuts before rushing him to a nearby hospital where he received 50 stitches.
