Got to love how they go to rob an ATM with explosives and the building is wrecked but there in the middle is one undamaged cash machine!! That didn't go quite as planned me thinks! |

They simply had no idea what they were doing: every ATM is supposed to withstand explosions, buildings are not: actually, a well designed cash machine must be built in a way that if you destroy the box you also destroy the money. That's why in many cases you'll destroy the building (and sometimes yourself) but NOT the cash machine; in Italy and in the rest of Europe except for Switzerland and Liechtenstein, there are gangs that rob ATM on daily basis using Acetylene and in some cases a 2€ gas charger like this one  leaving banknotes undamaged. But they know what they're doing. The explosion must start from the INSIDE of the machine, but yet from outside of the box containing the money. To put a charge of TNT or whatever explosive outside will cause damage to the building for sure, likely also to yourself, and in any case most likely you'll destroy the money if you destroy the machine. |
