Re: Grapefruit & Prescription Drug Interaction
I take Paxil, and I love grapefruit juice, but thank God Walgreens actually has a pre-printed warning label about grapefruit/drug interactions they stick on the bottle.

Re: Grapefruit & Prescription Drug Interaction
Good information, the pharmacies should require their employees to tell their patients this valuable information. Some people don't even bother to read the papers attached to their prescription.

Re: Grapefruit & Prescription Drug Interaction
Same here, I take 4 different medications for chronic conditions, so I have to be extra careful. Another huge improvement my doctor's office has made is that they print out scrips instead of handwriting them....I honestly think there was a course in "illegible prescription writing" in med school, I wonder how many medical mishaps occured because the pharmacist couldn't make out the doctor's handwriting.....

Re: Grapefruit & Prescription Drug Interaction
I don't know why doctors scribble. You pay for their time. With drugs having similar names, you'd think they'd be a lot more careful as well. My doctor's office has the assistants write out the prescriptions to learn the names. The last time I was there, one of the women called them in and everything got screwed up. Some didn't make it into the computer, one dosage was wrong. Fortunately, I check them all. I think I take about 13 meds. Nice, odd number |
