Gnarly Pics of My Mom's Busted Leg (continued!)
This one includes actual text! So the dealio is that the leg is splitting open dripping water, having swelled up from not having the water completely cycled out as much as it's going in. It's not that the water isn't being cycled out, it's not being cycled out fast enough. The splitting open and constant application of twice weekly zinc has helped prevent Infection entirely until last week when the possible start of an infected deep hole-like wound appeared. She complained of pain which the doctor alerted was a crucial first symptom of infection and took a sample to culture from deep within the wound. This was seven days ago, this is what it looked like then, were currently AT the appointment so I'll update later these pics are a week ago, originally I thought I posted this days ago but it screwed up due to my connection and never posted so this is late, I'll update posting today's pics and doctors updates l8r These pics range from opening up the wrapped leg showing the wound, washing and disinfecting it, and then applying the zinc paste and rewrapping it, the hole you can see hopefully as I can't edit these on the fly and point to it  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

That is rather interesting. I'm sorry she is going through this. I will hope that it does not get any worse. My dad's Right big toe got infected somehow and about turned black. We got it well only to have him die due to other factors. I'd post the photos but he was a private man.

Aww bless her, it must be really painful! I hope she gets better soon! Would manuka honey not help her aswell on the wound? Xx

It looks like this may be at a Wound Care Center. For quite a few years, I worked the front desk, of a Wound Care Center and I saw some super gnarly wounds. I only wish that I had the pictures to post in here. I hope your mom is well soon.

Wish I had pics of my immunocompromised brother's brown recluse bite. One of those where you can see the darkness of his big ol' body cavity :| Also hope your mom's feeling better and her leg's ok, it looked like that sucked. Hopefully she's a good sport and at least got a kick out of grossing out internet weirdos ;) |
