Re: Girl Wounded in Protest in Turkey(2 Hours Ago)
Absolute rubbish. I've been there twice (as a tourist) and they're very moderate indeed, particularly in the bigger cities like Istanbul. Plenty of women (locals included) walking around in shorts and short skirts in the summer. Nobody bats an eyelid, unless you are going into one of the hundreds of mosques - in which case, cover up.

Re: Girl Wounded in Protest in Turkey(2 Hours Ago)
This girl didnt die, her body isnt fully functional after the head trauma, her brother taking care of her. She was the first victim of the protests. Next day everything calmed down for nearly 2 weeks when the cops left the square but everything started again when they returned. When they left people started a commune there, shared their foods, built a library even a wedding place afair 5 couples met and married there And btw nobody can arrest or even say word about any woman's dressing in Turkey. Even atheism is under constitutional protection with the new democratization package. |
