Re: Girl Has Tip of Finger Amputated After Using False Nail Glue
That's so nasty! There was this girl in my high school who was obsessed with acrylic nails, she claimed they always kept her nails "strong and healthy" (how?) Anyway one day she comes in with a bandage over her finger and all the other acrylics removed and I asked her what had happened.... Turns out one of the fake nails had been lifting and water was getting trapped under it making her own nail soft and eventually becoming infected. The worst part was she didn't even realise it was happening because she couldn't see her own nail underneath! She said it started off as a dull ache but after a couple of weeks it started smelling fishy and hurt whenever she banged it, then one night she caught it on a door and it ripped off taking her own nail with it... I just... ah... |

Re: Girl Has Tip of Finger Amputated After Using False Nail Glue
Huurrgh that's nasty! I worked with a girl who tried to pick an acrylic nail off and she ended up with a huge hole in the middle of her nail, it was awful. I don't think a lot of women (and men too!) realise just how damaging acrylic and these new fangled gel manicures can be to your nails. My nail polish is terrible when I can even be bothered painting my nails, but I still try to take care of them because they're part of my, y'know, FINGERS. Which I need! |
