Goldfish can live really long in a proper tank that's big enough.
I guess that when you've had a pet for 30 years you grow pretty attached to it even if it's a fish.

Yeah, I remember making it a point to watch that when it first came on. AND, he also had a cameo in the Twilight Zone film, in the remade version of his own story about the little boy who could wish people elsewhere. He played a patron in the bar where some tough guy got sick of the kid's video game-playing interfering with the TV reception.

I've never seen that movie. Just parts here and there!
