A 23 year old female developed gangrene to her left foot secondary to peripheral artery disease (PAD), which is most commonly caused by diabetes and poor diet.

At the initial visit, she refused treatment as she wanted a more holistic, rather than western, medical approach. She went to a spiritual treatment church for 4 months and came back to the clinic with the below leg. The infection continued to grow, and the bacteria ended up eating the tissue just below the knee.

wow, just.....I mean, I understand physically how it happens, but how do you go that length of time with your leg literally rotting off of your body, & only decide "hmm, I think maybe I should go to the hospital" once half of it has already fallen off?! I mean, did she think they were just going to meditate her a new leg wherever it was she was going for this 'holistic therapy'?! Did no-one think to say "err, dude, you might need a bit more help with that"? Just wow
