Re: Further Deformity Corrected!

Some of you may well be aware that I had a brain bleed in 1996 from an arterial-venous malformation (AVM) resulting in temporary left-sided hemiplegia and subsequent leg spasticity and non-functioning foot? Four years ago I had an 'equinous deformity' (drop foot) corrected with amazing results. Now, my foot has started to 'pronate' (twist outwards) when I walk and really hurt. So my genious ortho surgeon decided to release my 'perineous longus' tendon to get my foot forward facing again. That surgery happened on Aug 10th and I'm in plaster recovering. Usual painful foot surgery but worth it! Here are my poor legs: one in an anti-embolism stocking and the brain damaged one in a cast. Hopefully I'll get a wound pic done after my first two weeks! If further soft tissue surgery fails, they proposed bone fusion
Wow ! That is so much to go through ! In my prayers Sharon

Re: Further Deformity Corrected!

My cast needs some graffitti on it! It's rubbish being housebound and having to hop about clumsily using a zimmer frame!

Send it to us when it's removed and we'll pass it around.

Maybe we will make Guinness' World Records for most strangers worldside signing a cast.

Re: Further Deformity Corrected!

Sharon you remind me of my mother. Both very strong women living with painful medical issues and people are none the wiser. I hope you heal quickly and that this resolves the issue. You poor thing. You always have witty and kind comments on here and awesome posts. Keep going girl!
