Further Deformity Corrected!
Some of you may well be aware that I had a brain bleed in 1996 from an arterial-venous malformation (AVM) resulting in temporary left-sided hemiplegia and subsequent leg spasticity and non-functioning foot? Four years ago I had an 'equinous deformity' (drop foot) corrected with amazing results. Now, my foot has started to 'pronate' (twist outwards) when I walk and really hurt. So my genious ortho surgeon decided to release my 'perineous longus' tendon to get my foot forward facing again. That surgery happened on Aug 10th and I'm in plaster recovering. Usual painful foot surgery but worth it! Here are my poor legs: one in an anti-embolism stocking and the brain damaged one in a cast. Hopefully I'll get a wound pic done after my first two weeks! If further soft tissue surgery fails, they proposed bone fusion |
