That is a pressure sore, or more commonly known as a bed sore. After sitting or pressing on a body part the area is starved of blood and dies. So whne you lay or sit on a part for an extended period the flesh dies and caves in creating this crator. Since she is paralized there is no pain. But, eventually they die from a raging infection if left untreated.
