Forest Cobra Bite

This is a picture of a Forest Cobra Bite. Cobras are Elapids, unlike Vipers they cary more neurotoxins than hemotoxins. This venom effects the neurological system, working to paralyze the diaphragm causing suffocation.

Having survived a Cobra bite myself, I will say, the effects of the venom are not as simple as it made to sound when discussing it.

No but I pissed on my self for six months and had seizures. Could not drive over all it sucked.

Oh yea, I'm fine now. It just took some time to recover. It was of course, my fault and was thankfully not too costly a lesson. I know several people who did not fair so well.

I was very scared, I have worked with these animals for many many years. Since the bite, I would not say I am afraid of Cobras but I have a very healthy respect for them.
