Forehead Bloodletting for Headaches, Venipuncture

This report is for the second video:
A bizarre video has emerged of a man receiving medieval style treatment to drain his head of blood.

According to reports, the procedure can be used to treat headaches in traditional Chinese medicine.

But while the treatment has existed for hundreds of years, the video, which is believed to have been filmed in China, has shocked viewers on the country's social media websites.

Michael Chung, a lecturer at the School of Chinese Medicine at Chinese University of Hong Kong, told MailOnline: 'Venipuncture, meaning cutting a vein to remove blood from the body, for therapeutic purposes is a commonly-used method in Chinese Medicine.

'It is quite commonly used in the treatment of pain, swelling, or other disorders that related to blood congestions.

'Usually, TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) practitioners will use lancets to let go a few drops of blood, or by means of "wet cupping".'

Chung believes the treatment might have been used to reduce eye swelling in this case.

He added: 'The possible risk of venipuncture, in such scale as in the video, may include pain and bruise after puncture, dropped blood pressure, shock and infection.'

.'
Their eyes are swelling because they've got a towel wrapped around their neck cutting off the jugular veins and trapping the blood in their head.

What is the point of pixelating the blood in the bowl? Letting my forehead take a piss sounds kind of relieving tbh...

I completely agree! This is also why head injuries bleed so badly, too!

This reminds me of Trepanation. This was the art of drilling dime size to bottle cap sized holes the head for health reasons & even to free the mind & bring you more intelligence.

(In doing so, it leaves the brain exposed to infections & even damage.....since the brain remains exposed, with just skin growing over the holes)...."No bone coverage over the brain, anymore". This was done in the olden days of leeches, etc, but unfortunately made a modern comeback.

Here, below is an article about this with illustrations:
https://thereader.mitpress.mit.edu/h...d-trepanation/

Doctors & Healers & now hippies believed that stagnant blood (like stagnant water) was bad. It could decay and turn into pus. Thus, the reason for trephaning, or at least one reason, was to allow the blood to flow out before it spoiled.

There's a documentary off the above article called "A hole in the head" from 1998. There you get to watch live, a woman getting this done, with just hand tools (warning, its very bloody)....used to be on Youtube, before all the censoring.

^^I've seen that documentary. I also saw the full video of the women trepanning herself. It's very interesting and crazy the reasons they do this.

Re: Forehead Bloodletting for Headaches, Venipuncture

Wouldn't donating blood basically do the same thing? Plus, it would help someone who needs it.
