Re: Foot Badly Injured After Landmine Detonated
The rear of the foot completely blown away above the ankle but having the forefoot relatively unscathed and still attached by shreds of soft tissue are hallmarks of small landmine exploding under a heel a person wearing boots. (below) details of the injury. (below) You might initiative think wearing hiking or tactical boots with study uppers and soles would lessen the injury and might even save your leg from a small landmine. However the opposite will happen if the landmine was stepped on with the heel. i.) Your boots sole will provide a larger and studier surface for the explosive blast to transmit energy up the leg. ii.) Your boots sturdy upper above ankle shaft will funnel more the blast beyond the ankle and up the leg. In short more of the blast is sent up the leg resulting in greater injury and higher level of amputation. (below) The photos and video only shows the initial treatment. The injury will certainly need further treatment and high amputation. |
