Re: FLORIDA: Fighter Suffers Horrific Leg Break in His Pro MMA Debut
Man I can sympathize! While taking TaeKwonDo I was doing a jump spin sidekick on 2inches of wood and when I landed my left knee bent backwards then to the side. It sounded like chicken bones breaking. My ACL was completely torn loose at the top and split down the middle, the MCL was torn almost in half and the meniscus on the other side was just gone.

I'm more amazed at exactly how that happened. The femur is the biggest and strongest bone in the body. I don't know what would make that give way before something like a hip, knee, or lower leg bone. Makes me wonder if he had some sort of existing bone issue.

Re: FLORIDA: Fighter Suffers Horrific Leg Break in His Pro MMA Debut
The sharp point beneath his skin is probably the patella not his femur. It looks like his patella snapped, causing the quadriceps tendon to draw it vertically up several inches, giving the impression there was a sharp femur fracture beneath his skin. I've seen it before on a soccer player. ![]() ![]() |
