Looks like someone actually had a sharp one, usually the ones on here couldn't do anymore damage than a stick. They just swing away & nothing happens.

Doubt he would survive that, due to blood loss if nothing else.
There is no major arteries in that part of the body, if they got closer to his neck or inside the armpit he'd bleed out instantly.
