Full story here > Flip-Flops Chinese-manufactured flips-flops and Wal-Mart have one thing in common … they both have a Florida woman fuming after she sustained a chemical burn from the straps on the cheap foreign-made shoes. In June, Kerry Stiles of Ocklawaha, Fla., bought a pair of Sand and Sun sandals at the discount department store and soon developed what she claims was a chemical burn where the straps touched her skin. Several weeks later, the affected area was oozing green liquid from open sores. When Stiles contacted Wal-Mart to report the issue, they reluctantly let her file an incident report but basically blew her off. It wasn’t until September after similar claims came in that the company finally recalled the shoes to conduct its own investigation.   ·  · |
