Youtube has some U.S. Navy videos on the hazards of line handling on ships. They were PRETTY GRIM! They also interview guys who lost limbs because ropes snapped under tension, or chains let go, or any of 5000 other things that can happen with a rope that has 50 tons applied to it. It's like those 4 wheel drive videos, where they are trying to pull some truck out of the muck, have a rope or a chain hooked up to it, give it a good jerk, and kill the tow driverl and the towee driver at the same time.  |
