Finger Lost During Dumbbell Press
Was doing incline DB bench with 90s. Guy he was lifting with has his dumbells on the floor next to the bench. When he went to set them down it crushes his finger between the grip on the 90s and the DB on the floor. Tip of finger literally just popped off right at the knuckle. Blood everywhere. That is bone that you can see sticking out

More details: They are going to saw his bone down and cauterize it. Said they weren't able to reattach it because of the way it came off. Military doctors. He actually took it like a fukkin champ. Didn't go into shock or anything. It severed an artery in his finger so blood was spurting everywhere. He was like oh chiit my finger! And then walked to the front desk with it in his hand and asked for an ambulance. He's active duty military. Not only is it getting paid for, but he is going to get a monthly check for the rest of his life. Below is exactly how it happened: Other guys dumbbells were right on the side next to wear your butt goes. He finished with his set and as he was lowering them to the ground (didn't know other DBs were there) his finger got crushed between the grip of his dumbbells (was still holding) and the rubber weight part of other dumbbells. Normally he drops the weights but it was his first set and he was just warming up so the weights were light for him |

Yea my friend moved some weights, warned me about doing this just not long ago and I scoffed it off. Guess he was right. Then again LA Fitness has rubber coated DBs I suppose now for a damn good reason.

Looks like my pinky when it got smashed. Only mine didn't do more that drip a tiny bit of blood. Sent a neighbor to to find the tip and put it rubbing alcohol. Grandma set it by my plate the next morning at breakfast.
