Filipino Woman Who Died with Terrible Cancer in the Face

Based on backtracking the story, it all started with a loss of smell and a sinusitis in the middle of 2025, before a tumor grew on her nose and became cancerous, eventually destroying her face and body. She finally died May 9, 2026, she was only 19 years old.

I also included a funeral video, she was given an open casket service (which is quite rare for such a disfigured body).

How sad. What a horrible way to survive until death. She was quite an attractive young woman before her affliction.

Re: Filipino Woman Who Died with Terrible Cancer in the Face

Way too soon and tragic.

There's possible hope for the future though. CRISPR protein, Cas12a2.
https://attheu.utah.edu/health-medic...ick-cells-dna/

Most testing has occurred in petri dishes and/or small mouse models so scientists must figure out now safe delivery mechanisms ensuring the shredder safely reaches the tumor without being degraded by the body's immune system.

If Cas12a2 passes every single phase (3 in humans) successfully, the entire process will take at least 9 to 12 years.

However, he Institute of Cancer Research notes that combining advanced AI with drug development workflows could slash the preclinical phase from three years to three months, and ultimately cut overall trial times from 9 to 12 years into 5 to 7 years as
CRISPR tools often suffer from off-target effects, where they accidentally cut the wrong piece of DNA.

Advanced AI tools, such as Stanford Medicine's CRISPR-GPT, can scan the entire human genome in seconds to simulate and predict off-target errors.

This replaces months of manual lab trial-and-error with precise, instantly optimized guide RNA blueprints.

AI models can simulate how the body's immune system will react to the lipid nanoparticles carrying Cas12a2, identifying the safest delivery vehicles before a single animal is tested.

(Phases 1 & 2) Finding human volunteers who have the exact genetic cancer mutation required for a CRISPR trial is a massive roadblock.

Historically, only about 7% of cancer patients ever make it into a trial. AI platforms can scan electronic health records across hundreds of hospitals simultaneously, matching eligible patients to the Cas12a2 trial in days instead of months.

Phase 3 trials require thousands of patients, half of whom must receive a placebo or standard chemo to act as a comparison group.

AI can now generate synthetic control arms using historical data from thousands of past cancer patients.

This heavily reduces the number of physical patients researchers need to recruit, drastically shortening Phase 3 timelines.

Instead of waiting until a phase completely finishes to analyze the physical paperwork, AI monitors patient data, like tumor shrinkage or blood work markers, in real-time.

This allows researchers to adjust dosages safely on the fly or confidently transition into the next phase ahead of schedule.
However, following the current administration's goal to drastically shrink the federal government, the Food and Drug Administration lost roughly 20% of its total staff, representing more than 3,800 positions.

Furthermore, the White House Fiscal Year 2026 budget proposal enacted an additional $271 million direct cut to the FDA.

This severe understaffing introduces specific bottlenecks that could directly stall gene therapies.
