A Few Babies Born With Cyclopia
Hopefully this isn't a repost of pics, but here is some more examples of a genetic defect known as cyclopia. I saw one pic of it on a thread, I figured some more wouldn't hurt. If I recall, it is a defect that effects the 13th chromosome. For more details, just search cyclopia.

I only really knew about it from what I heard in my bioethics class. I always found it a little interesting for the fact that people with this resemble old drawings of cyclops. I can't help but wonder if some time way long ago someone with this disease functioned like a normal person, creating the myths a bit further along... Oh, and thanks for the extra info. |

From what I've read, it's pretty likely that some of the cyclops myths started out with babies like these... in an age when there were no photographs and most people didn't read, stories passed by word of mouth, and it wouldn't take too many retellings before a deformed baby turned into "My brother's friend knew this guy who was like eight feet tall and only had one eye, and..."
