Re: Female Circumcision on the Rise in U.S.
It’s not fair~ its wasn’t meant to be male against female type statement or vice versa. Female Circumcision is a horrible practise, that rightful should disgust the world and be outlawed. I was mentioning that the origins of female circumcision are possibly a long held cultural belief. Historically, the first mention of male and female circumcision appears in the writings by the Greek geographer Strabo, who visited Egypt around 25 B.C. Many centuries later, 19th century gynaecologists in England and the United States would perform clitoridectomies to treat various psychological symptom as well as "masturbation and nymphomania." Sweden was the first Western country to outlaw FGM, followed in 1985 by the UK. In the United States it became illegal in 1997; FGM is a crime in many countries now. |

Re: Female Circumcision on the Rise in U.S.
The hell are you and all those primitive people smoking? Female circumcision is the equivalent of cutting a man's entire penis off... Here.. have you two testicles .. and no way to achieve sexual gratification.. have fun, good luck with life. You do realize they cut the entire Clitoris off, right? Yeh, that and they may also take the labia minora and/or majora... This is done for purity until marriage as stated.. Purity as in, the woman will have little to no interest in sex.. hence she will quite possibly make it to marriage a virgin.. (if she'd even let anyone touch her at all.. Hubby included..) And when they perform this "Surgery" in third world countries.. the family holds the girl down while a mother, or grandmother removes the fleshy bits with a dull piece of metal (if lucky to have a tin coffee can etc around..if not , find some thin rocks....) Imagine that? being that child, people who care for and love you doing this to you..holding you down, proding at your genitalia, no explanation.. just pain... fear..and why? why? I know you stated for the hope of this practice to end.. And many others do as well. In my eyes it is a type of violence as brutal as rape.. or at least on that level.. But by no means is this anything at all equivalent to a man/baby boy/boy losing his foreskin.. I'd lose my foreskin again before I'd be a girl and willingly accept that done to me.. |
