Re: Father of the Year!
I'm passionate! What can I say?! Seriously though. I get pretty upset when people blow things out of proportion. We don't know the circumstances or anything. It's simply unreasonable to go through all the trouble of catching a large fish (especially a barracuda, which is quite a process) only to drop everything and rush to the hospital over a low to mid level wound like that. You can never know what the truth is from a couple pictures. And as far as I can tell all the photos were taken on the boat at the dock. There's a somewhat long process of docking when in a larger boat. So, one person snaps a few photos while the others dock. I dunno. Like I said, you can't know the whole story from a few pics... and that goes for me as well. I'm just saying not to jump the gun. Not that it matters. edit: I have no children yet. I'm sure I'd be a caring parent. I'd care about the long term. Fathers who baby their "little princesses" all through life anger me. I'm an uncle. All three of my nephews have broken bones in their arms/hands. And me, as well as my sister, share the same views. We'll show compassion, and comfort them to an extent. But we teach them a practical lesson. For christ sake the girl is in University dammit. Girls gotta grow up sometime. That is, assuming she even had a problem in the first place. |

Re: Father of the Year!
Absolutely. It's not like he laughed it off and went for a few beers. The girl will probably look back in ten years and laugh at it. Remember the scars, remember the father and daughter bonding while out fishing. It's just completely rediculous to go out and call the dad a fat pig and all that. But then again... this is the internet, and who really cares? |

Re: Father of the Year!
If the girl was happy to stand and have her picture taken, rather than rush to the hospital to get that painful bacteria filled wound(s) fixed, then she'd probably be smiling in a demented way like her fat dad is. Maybe she'd even be holding the fish in her non injured hand. If Patsy, etc, thinks there's no problem with any of that then go get a pit bull, smear some dog food on your kids arm and after the dog mauls it take pics of dog and injured kid. And then report back about the kids attitude towards the injury and modelling session. |
