This happened to a close friend of mine three days ago. The pictures are prior to stitches, after stitches, and 3 days post.

The dog was an Anatolian shepherd and was picked up by animal control.

she's lucky that the dog just barely missed her nose as lucky as she could hope to be in a situation like that i suppose be an interesting scar though

Those are big dogs to protect livestock and chase away bears/wolves.
They're very protective and not aggressive. So yeah i wonder if she stepped onto someone's territory or if she owns the dog.

The dog belonged to a friend of hers.

From my understanding, she was about to walk the dog. It was raining, so she reached over the dog to get an umbrella, and it felt threatened or whatever and snapped.

After seeing the size of the dog, she got off pretty lucky. I'm glad she's okay, that's gonna leave a cool scar though.
