When I visited China, the very first thing our guide told us is "NEVER drink any water in China, unless it is from a plastic bottle!" All the ground water in China is contaminated with everything from pesticides to nuclear waste and plating chemicals. Our bus carried bottled water, all out hotels had bottled water, and everywhere we went, there was bottled water available. NO DRINKING FOUNTAINS ANYWHERE!
