Eyelash Mites
Pic shows a colored scanning electron micrograph of eyelash hairs emerging from the surface of human skin. At the base of the eyelashes tails of eyelash mites (Demodex folliculorum) are visible protruding from several eyelashes. Nearly every human eyelash harbors these microscopic parasitic mites, which are usually harmless.  |
