Eye Removal
This shows the evisceration (removal of an organ) of a painful blind eye with a recurrent corneal ulcer with hypopyon. *A peritomy, or peritectomy, is a procedure carried out in eye surgery by ophthalmology, where a strip of the conjunctiva of an eye is removed, usually to correct pannus, where blood vessels begin to grow into the peripheral cornea. *A conformer holds the shape of the eye socket and allows the eye lids to blink over the shell without rubbing the suture line. Note: The 1st picture should be last. I don't know why it shows up in the wrong order. |

Re: Eye Removal
My pictures don't show up in order anymore either! They go wherever they feel like. I want to compliment you on your great posts since you've only been with us a couple of months One of my late brothers was an organ donor and they used his corneas and skin. I wonder if that's what the cornea removal looked like. |
