This is only a problem with BLACK hair dye. So if she's been dying her hair other colors for years it wouldn't matter. Black hair dyes are the only ones that contain those chemicals. It's horrible when it happens.

Good lord.I'm a very allergic-type of person,and I've had a lot of allergic reactions-including mild facial or eyelid swelling from all kinds of beauty products-sunscreen,hair conditioner,clearisil,soap-you name it-but I've luckily never had a reaction from hair dye.I have light ash brown hair,and sometimes put in a washable colour to give myself a lift-especially more now I'm over 40 and want to hide a few greys without resorting to permanent hair colour.I'm terrible and NEVER do the elbow test if it's a product I've used before.From now on,I'm doing it EVERY time.YIKES!
