Example of the Pituitary Disorder
From the book, The Pituitary Body and Its Disorders by Harvey Cushing, 1912. A pituitary disorder, also known as a pituitary gland disorder or hypopituitarism, refers to a medical condition in which the pituitary gland, a small pea-sized gland located at the base of the brain, does not function properly. The pituitary gland is often referred to as the "master gland" because it plays a crucial role in regulating and controlling various hormonal functions in the body. Pituitary disorders can disrupt the production and release of hormones, leading to a range of health problems. |
