Probably the latter. Q-tips are usually the very things that cause impacted ear wax. They should only be used to clean the outer ear, using them on the inner ear jams wax farther down into the canal. Otolaryngologists use little tools to scoop out excess wax, but that's not too practical for home use unless you're willing risk stabbing your eardrum ( not fun Ear wax cleans it's self out anyway, provided you shower enough to let a little water get to it. |

Season's greetings to you and your hot wife :) I always thought it was a hygiene thing as I do with many medical issues on here that were not present at birth. A couple of videos I posted said it is a hereditary thing and not a hygiene thing. I guess these people don't shower. You can run water into each ear and use a wash cloth and I still use Q-Tips after showering. |
