Earlobe injuries are not uncommon. They frequently occur when an infant pulls on the earring and lacerates the earlobe.

Also, heavy earrings could on the long run produce vertical slits in the earlobes.

These injuries can be easily repaired in the office, under local anaesthesia.

also can happen if you get in a fight and forget to take them out. glad my hoops are ones that just pop apart if pulled on.

happened to my grandma.. i cant remember how.. i think one of my cousins ripped it out.

They can get a couple of stitches. They usually come, aside from fights, from wearing heavy earrings over the years or old age.

I don't wear hanging earrings, unless they're posts.

I think that is what you meant, julie. If they get caught on a sweater, they come uphooked and nothing gets hurt.

Or, if you have children or babysit. They love glasses and earrings.

i got a stud stuck in the actual hole when i was about 10,was a pain to get out from what i remember.
