Dream Deceivers - The Story of James Vance v. Judas Priest
People just ca't take responsibility for their own actions. There must always be someone else to blame for their problem/actions. Plus nothing heals your screw-ups like a few million dollars. What a waste of time and money, this should have been thrown out of court right away. |

Re: Dream Deceivers - The Story of James Vance v. Judas Priest
DiamondSmiles and anyone else interested, I use a free program called Youtube Downloader HD to grab video's off YouTube. It gets them in FLV or MP4, FLV works better on DR though. It also gets rid of all the ads and crap from the video. DiamondSmiles, I'm downloading this video for you now, it's 178.81 MB so it will take a while as things from YouTube download very slow for some reason.

Re: Dream Deceivers - The Story of James Vance v. Judas Priest
Thank you, Headless I'm computer illiterate and don't adjust well to new things. Vance had a history of attempted suicides and finally got it right in the end. I saw this show years ago. I loved that Rob Halford grew his hair over his tattooed head, lol! The law firm for which I used to work did makeovers, too. Alice Cooper once said he was tired of the witch hunts whenever someone tried to blame a song. He always hoped it wasn't one of his records on the turntable. Ozzy had people bitching about, "Suicide Solution," as well. Although I listen to nearly all genres, I loved when a guy requested, "The Dance," by Garth Brooks be played at his funeral after his suicide. I don't know what goes on in the mind of a suicidal person, but, I don't think they hear what we hear, or interpret it to fit their own needs to blame someone else. |

Re: Dream Deceivers - The Story of James Vance v. Judas Priest
This has been floating around for quite some time...glad to see someone had the sense to post it on YT. What really gets me is the parents' absolute conviction about their "faith" and how because of it they could never be held accountable for what happened. Especially Vance's mother...she swears up and down that she COULDN'T have been responsible for the action her son took on that fateful night, how it just HAD to be something or someone else that screwed her kid up so badly that he'd want to end it all. Never mind that this stupid fuck had been a mess for most of his adult life, never mind that even when he himself had picked up the clarion call of "Ooooo, it's Judaz Preeeeestz fault I blew my face all to hell" that he still listened to and obviously loved the music he'd claimed had "bewitched" him...never mind the fact that the problems and conflicts with his mom supposedly caused by that devil music had always been there even when this dumbass was just a kid. Her complete denial of responsibility is shocking to say the least, even when it's pointed out to her by her own husband....wow. I'd love nothing better than to tell this Bible thumping slag to watch the film and learn, you bitch...maybe then you might finally realize that it was YOU and not the phoney pseudo science slapped together by hypocrites and charlatans that you hide behind in the name of God that is responsible for these kids' deaths and nothing else. PERIOD.

Re: Dream Deceivers - The Story of James Vance v. Judas Priest
I've seen Judas Priest, Alice Cooper and Ozzy on the front row several times and never had any thought of killing myself or anyone else. Vance's mother was probably a drunk who believed she loved her son unconditionally, and perhaps, in her own way, she did, but, trying to cash in on a tragedy pissed me off! |

Re: Dream Deceivers - The Story of James Vance v. Judas Priest
If both of them had died together there never would have been a lawsuit. Since James Vance botched his suicide, only to suffer for three more years, he was able to blame Judas Priest. It could not have possibly been caused by a co-dependent friendship where they connected due to an equally miserable upbringing, inability to hold down jobs, substance abuse, and other traits that doomed them to be lifelong losers. Both families were rewarded in the settlement. James Lance had sent the other guys mom a letter blaming Judas Priest, and I imagine that is what got the whole ball of shit rolling. |
