dang that dude looked dirty. definitely not the recommended approach  given the size and surrounding erythema i would have opened it up some more in order to get better drainage and allow for probing with hemostats to break up the many likely loculations. also probably would have packed it afterwards. antibiotics would also be on my list of items indicated for an abscess that size |
