Dog with Something...pus, Worms?

Worms, infection, I don't know but poor bloody thing.

Be warned, this video is gross + has made me all 'gaggy'.

I'm not sure what section this goes in as there's not an 'animal medical problem' section, so sorry if it doesn't belong here.

I must be weirder than I thought I was. I’d enjoy squeezing those little bastards out. Poor dogs.

Re: Dog with Something...pus, Worms?

I'd never even heard or seen mangoworms before. I've just watched another video on it + wish I hadn't, I feel sick. Those poor dogs, it's horrible.

Re: Dog with Something...pus, Worms?

My dog got some kind of myiasis once. Only realized this when she started having a bald spot on her thick fur coat revealing her pink skin underneath. She had holes in her skin and it was oozing some pus-like liquid. I didnt see anything except holes at first.. until later I saw them surface and kind of ‘blinking’ at me. I learned from these videos that could suffocate these maggots by spreading vaseline over the area. I also wrapped a bandage over the vaselined area. Over the next days, found lots of maggots that crawled out for air and died. there were also a large number of dead maggots in holes on her skin. I used a garden hose held against the holes to flush the maggots out. Boy, were there maggots. After flushing the maggots out, I disinfected the area with povidone iodine and bandaged it. She made a full recovery rather quickly.
