Dog Found Covered In Porcupine Quills

A local animal shelter is helping an injured dog after it had an unfortunate run-in with a porcupine.

The young Rottweiler, named Blossom, was spotted lying in a Parker Township ditch Thursday with more than 500 quills in her face and shoulder.

Authorities said Blossom was frail and malnourished and could only walk on three legs because of all the quills.

A local vet removed the quills, and Blossom is now being taken care of at the West Deer Dog Shelter.

Re: Dog Found Covered In Porcupine Quills

All porcupines do is mind their own business and amble along, and because dogs pick on them, and meet the consequences, everybody wants them dead. Typical.

Their are three adult porcupines near my home, who come up to be fed once in a while, like now in winter, when foods scarce. They're actually quite friendly, once they get to know you. One of the females became trusting enough to bring her tiny babies to my house once, and even let me hold them!

Nature's amazing.

Tank and Casey surprisingly won't mess with them, it's like they know what would happen. They steer clear when the creatures show up.

Two of the porcs eating.

But anyway, poor Rottie. I hope the beautiful girl learned her lesson though, and won't mess with the slow creatures again!
