Dog Bite Trauma to Russian Tortoise
Severe dog bite trauma in a Russian tortoise Testudo horsfieldii. Despite the unpleasant presentation, such cases are common, and many make a good recovery. Fluid therapy, analgesia, antibiosis, lavage with debridement and dressing under possible general anaesthetic are all good treatment options. Recovery is likely to take three months or more in a healthy juvenile like this. · |

Re: Dog Bite Trauma to Russian Tortoise
I have a Yellow Bellied Slider Turtle, and my wife dropped him off the table onto the tile floor. I told her he is quick, so don't leave him out loose when cleaning his tank. But no, she knew best..... He didn't get hurt, bled a bit from his mouth though. He is next to an Xbox game to show his size. I have no idea how old he is. (she?) |

Re: Dog Bite Trauma to Russian Tortoise
Mature male red eared sliders have massive long front claws I had one he was larger than a DVD case but smaller than a novel sized / book. They are a bit stupid they will dive into or off anything.
