Does Anyone Know About Nails?
Probably the wrong place to ask and may sound dumb but I'm just curious. I heard somewhere nails are supposed to tell ( well they can possibly ) about your health. My nails are always brittle and have ridges , red lines. What does this mean... |

Re: Does Anyone Know About Nails?
First up please cut your nails, that's fucking nasty. Next it would depend on if the symptoms are new or you've had them for life, it could be anything from a congenital heart defect from birth to lung cancer (which is the most common cause of enlarged fingers) |

Re: Does Anyone Know About Nails?
I had found a good site or two one time but misplaced them. It looks that most of your nails don't have a distinct moon and are mostly white with a heavy red ring. So I'm wondering if you are maybe deficient in iron, b12 or protein in general. I have the lousy cuticles, weak/brittle nails and red rings so I also added in some Lugol's iodine (2 to 3 drops a day). Nails seem stronger, less ridged and I don't see the distinct red rings at the moment. I still have some weird horizontal ridging though. So for you (I'm not an expert), I'm guessing some type of anemia and/or thyroid issue which may be just a vitamin deficiency. I remember seeing those distinct red rings awhile back and going, man that's weird! |
