A friend of mine was shot in his left arm by anti aircraft round that penetrated his aircraft in Vietnam. It almost totally amputated his arm just left it hanging by the skin. The doctors reattached the arm and tried to get the nerves lines up but it never worked. Today his left arm is useless and the muscles atrophied so it looks funny.

I'm an amputee myself, but there is something so creepy about a detached limb -- especially an arm. It give me the heebe jeebes.

I've seen this pic before and they actually sew the guys arm to his groin to re-establish a blood supply and then re-attach it.
