I have a very severe case. In 2011, I bled out several times, requiring me to be resuscitated three times. I found out that I have a very rare condition called gastroparesis and paralytic ilius with dysmotility. The nerves to my gut are damaged and some are paralyzed. Nobody knows what caused it. This caused the diverticulosis, and then an artery burst in one diverticula, causing the bleed. It is a terminal condition, and I can no longer eat food as a result. I was only 44 when it was diagnosed. I am currently on antibiotics for diverticulitis. There is nothing they can do anymore. It's sickening and not fun at all.
